How’s Your Stool?

Aspiring players should seek to balance their skills (visually, physically, and mentally) to attain an overall proficiency level. Pool is essentially a three-legged stool that is 100% visual, 100% physical, and 100% mental.

CTE PRO ONE, my body of work about Center-to-Edge Aiming, can put you on a track to reaching your full potential in the visual arena.

If you’re looking to acquire a strong mental game, then you must first get your visual game and your physical game at levels to where you can operate each with a lion’s share of what’s available for a full tank of skills in both of those domains.

So what about the third leg of the stool—the physical? If you want your share of 100% of what’s available about stroke, I can assist you in getting on track to acquiring higher-level skills for the two most important professional stroke structures: the pendulum strike and the arm-drop drive.

The pendulum stroke is a piece of cake to understand and can be taught in short order.

The arm-drop drive is another matter, and correct information and instruction concerning that structure is not readily available just anywhere.

In my private stroke-education lessons, you will learn when to use the pendulum movement and when to drop your arm. You will learn the importance of grip and how specific nuances of one’s grip can trigger the proper stroke-structure choice. Additionally, you will learn the following about stroke: the importance of stroke “release” and its connection to the arm-drop drive and why it’s critical to get the larger muscles engaged for your most used stroke…your working stroke.
